Greetings,
Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards, and we inform you that we have received a letter from His Excellency the General Director of the General Authority of Transport in the Eastern Region No. 41/96/96/96 on 04/19/2020, regarding the requests submitted by some of the carriers to the effect that there are trucks transporting cars of customers who are having difficulty getting cars Contracted with them to move them in the shelters assigned to them in the cities and governorates in which the total curfew was imposed, and the inability to deliver cars to customers and similar requests from car rental offices included the inability to receive cars leased to clients and whose rental contracts ended or those that need to be replaced due to technical faults or otherwise.
In the interest of the General Transport Authority to facilitate the procedures of citizens and companies, coordination has been made with the security authorities on the following mechanism for receiving and delivering vehicles according to the following:
*The allowing period for these companies begins from the date of 28/08/1441, and for a period of (5) five days, to be from six in the morning until three in the evening, for the cities and governorates in which a total ban is applied, namely (Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Qatif, Hofuf)
* The companies referred to above are reviewing the department's police department to request the necessary permits to open their branches, and permits for their employees and they also provide them with a list of names and proof of identity for the tenants or car owners that have been transferred by the car transport companies to agree to their movement during the grace period allowed to them.
*These establishments are obliged not to conclude any new contracts during the allowing period referred to in paragraph (1).
Accordingly, we hope that the governorate police department to which you are affiliated will quickly review within a period of (24) hours prior to the date of application, to complete the procedures for issuing the necessary permits, and to coordinate with your clients to receive rental cars, and to deliver cars transported on trucks to their owners by car transport companies, during the indicated allowing period above.
